Colby Drilling Company commenced operations in July 1986, and operates out of a substantial workshop facility in Canning Vale, Western Australia, which services its fleet of drilling rigs and associated equipment. An independent engineering facility provides us with 24-hour service to manufacture drill parts, rods etc.

The Managing Director, James Colby has been involved in the Drilling Industry for the past thirty years, giving the Company a wide range of experience on which to call when necessary.

Colby Drilling has carried out a variety of contracts since 1986 for most of the major mining companies and many smaller exploration companies in Western Australia .

The Company owns two Reverse Circulation rigs, five Diamond Coring rigs,  three Dual Rotary rigs and one horizontal rig. Our fleet of rigs includes machines utilising the latest technical innovations, including hands-free rod handling and breakout systems for RC and Diamond drilling.

Types of work carried out include:

·               Large Diameter Dual Rotary drilling from 6" to 24″ diameter.

·               Triple tube coring for maximum recovery in broken or soft formations.

·               RC and Conventional drilling.

We have a variety of cyclones and sampling devices, rig and trailer mounted.

We use a range of drill strings from 3.5" to 11" diameter and operate a complete range of hammers, both conventional, and reverse circulation up to 24" diameter, utilising auxiliary compressors and boosters as required.
